While there was a quick break in the action upstairs at the Gozu show, I bopped down to Moe’s to see what was going on. Guilty Party was rocking Freak Flag First Friday. Nice.

Radiator King @ Moe’s Lounge 12.6.2012
Let me share with you what little information I know about Radiator King. I bopped down to Moe’s Lounge and caught most of their set. It was gritty and dusty and rattled my bones. They have a Bandcamp page and a CD release show at Great Scott on December 23rd. Despite some internet sleuthery, I wasn’t able to come up with much more. They’re gonna make me work for it…
The Dirty Truckers @ Moe’s Lounge 10.12.2012
Hot, loud, sweaty and a little rambunctious could describe just about any Dirty Truckers gig. Confining the band and their cohorts to Moe’s Lounge made it inevitable at Bands For Babs.
Reverse @ Moe’s Lounge 10.12.2012
Having Reverse play in a basement is a good way to see if the local building inspectors have been doing their job. I’m happy to report that Radio is still around with its structural integrity intact. That’s not to say that Ian Kennedy, Mike Piehl and Mike Quinn didn’t do their best to make the whole place come tumbling down in a cloud of frenetic guitar riffs, hypnotic harmonies and colossal grooves. Reverse put Moe’s Lounge to the test during Bands For Babs.
The Charms @ Moe’s Lounge 10.11.2012
The Charms brought their electric sound to Moe’s Lounge as part of the Bands For Babs benefit. Something about garage rock played in a basement always feels right.
David Mirabella @ Moe’s Lounge 10.11.2012
Dave Mirabella is a supremely talented songwriter. He manages to get to the heart of the matter with a few chords from his Martin and a memorable melody. He played down in Moe’s Lounge as part of Bands For Babs. As an added bonus, his brother Mike (also his bandmate in The Rationales) jumped behind the kit.
Eric Salt & The Electric City @ Moe’s Lounge 10.11.2012
I was really anxious on October 11th, the first day of the Bands For Babs benefit. Having “Never Intended” by Eric Salt & The Electric City stuck in my head all day helped to calm me down. After being upstairs at Radio for The Modifiers and AM Stereo, I bopped down to Moe’s Lounge to catch as much of Eric Salt and his band as I could. Just as I walked into the wood-paneled sanctuary, The Electric City kicked into “Never Intended” and everything was right in the world.
