It’s been five days since Viva La Eva Dos and I still have the riff from “Celebrities On Ice” running through my head on an endless loop. With that, I’d like to thank Parlour Bells for supporting a good cause and providing the soundtrack to my daydreams.
Moose And the Mudbugs kept spirits high at Viva La Eva Dos with a set of pysch-tinged garage rock. Songs about iceberg lettuce and roaches under pillows had TT’s buzzing for a good cause.
Thee Sonomatics opened up Viva La Eva Dos with a set of primitive rock ‘n’ roll for a good cause.

Goddamn Draculas took the stage in front of a packed house at the House of Blues opening for Cheap Trick. Understanding the gravity of the moment, the band unleashed a triumphant set of riffs, hooks, laughs, friendship and those trademark killer harmonies. Well done, gentlemen. You’ve done this city proud.
If you’re a fan of The Field Effect’s Cartography album, then last Friday’s show at TT’s was for you. The band played their full length front-to-back and side-to-side.* Then they did the hokey pokey and they tu… stop it. Look, I’ve written a lot of words about The Field Effect that all basically say the same thing. This is a really good band that puts on one heck of a live show.** Isn’t that good enough?
* Side-to-side because it’s available on vinyl, right? Sorry.

The Box Tiger came down from Maine to deliver a spirited set at TT’s.
I view attending a show by The Color And Sound as a measure to prevent jadedness. There’s too much life in one of their sets to remain detached. Music is awesome. Enjoy it.
Goddamn Draculas are glorious creatures of the night. They typically dwell in dark places and use sound to lure in other nocturnal mammals. Then they party.
Gozu are a beastly thing and I like it.
