The Dogmatics were amped-up and ready to roll out some hooky garage rock for a worthy cause at Viva La Eva Dos. Fantastic.
Viva La Eva Dos sure to be as wonderful as Viva La Eva Uno.
It’s like a broken record around here, but the Boston Music scene has a huge heart. It really showed at last year’s Viva La Eva benefit for Eva Lipton. Not content to do good things just once, Viva La Eva Dos will be happening next Thursday at TT’s. Joe Queer & Friends, The Dogmatics, The Downbeat 5, Classic Ruins, Parlour Bells, Moose & The Mudbugs and Thee Sonomatics will provide the music. Emma’s Pizza will bring some pizza. You bring yourselves. It’s going to be a wonderful time.
Here are some pics from last year’s event in case you still need some convincing…
Friday Finals Flashback
So, you’re headed to the sold out Rock ‘N’ Roll Rumble Finals tonight and you’re wondering what to expect. Look, these things are pretty unpredictable. No one ever really knows what’s going to happen. Petty Morals, Await Rescue and Goddamn Draculas have been on point the whole Rumble. There’s no reason to expect anything less tonight. However, if you think you know what tricks the bands have up their sleeves or who’s going home in a tiara, you may be in for a surprise. We’ll find out soon enough when we pack into TT’s to watch in all unfold. Then we’ll catch a set from The Information before they announce the winner and spray the champagne. In the end, we’ll have our memories. Maybe we’ll have some pictures. Here are a few of mine from the last 3 Rumble Finals. See you tonight!
Oh, and let’s not forget the celebrations…

The Dogmatics @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 4.26.2013
Twin Berlin opened the 2013 Rumble Finals by reminding us that rock ‘n’ roll can still be fun. The Dogmatics closed out the night by showing us what a time tested tradition that is while the guys in Twin Berlin danced along. This year’s special guest band (and 1985 Rumble participant) are garage rock heroes around here for good reason. They’ve got some amazing tunes. The Dogmatics were a great closer for another memorable Rock ‘N’ Roll Rumble. Let’s do it again next year.
