I saw Sidewalk Driver three times in eight days and all I have are these lousy pictures. And these. Oh, and these. Each show was special in its own way. I had a blast every time. At The Midway they closed out this year’s Crash Safely benefit with a shower of confetti and whatever it was that Tad did with Gene Dante.
Walter Sickert And The Army Of Broken Toys @ Redstar Union 9.19.2013
Walter Sickert And The Army Of Broken Toys brought steamcrunk to Redstar Union. There was even a special collaboration with Tad from Sidewalk Driver.
Sidewalk Driver @ Redstar Union 9.19.2013
Here’s Sidewalk Driver at Redstar Union. The songs were wonderful. The sound was amazing. The lights shone almost as brightly as the band’s performance. Basically, it was everything I had hoped it would be. I can’t wait to see the videos from this one.
Sidewalk Driver @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 9.13.2013
Surprise! Special Guest! What kind of celebration would it be without Sidewalk Driver? Probably one with fewer songs about awesome things and less confetti. Who would want that? Not Tough Teddy.
Tad & Kate @ Fort Warren 9.7.2013
Tad & Kate. Kate & Tad. Music on Georges Island. Pure enjoyment.

Doesn’t a Sidewalk Driver show look like fun?*
* It is.
Sidewalk Driver @ Oberon 5.24.2013
I’m looking around Oberon. It’s been a pretty crazy evening.* Sidewalk Driver is playing and people are dancing and singing along. Oh / you can’t help it / ’cause when you see it / you want to touch it. It’s one of the band’s newer songs. “My Face” is yet to be released, but that doesn’t stop people from getting snagged by its hook. They inevitably join in. That’s how good Sidewalk Driver is. Shut up.
Now, if only they’d put a little effort into their live shows…
* Tonight’s Bayou Bacchanalia was a fundraiser for the production of The Bacchae. If the show is anything like tonight’s festivities, it’s going to be pretty wild.
Sidewalk Driver @ Great Scott 5.4.2013
Oh, look! It’s Sidewalk Driver opening for Spacehog at Great Scott. No big deal.*
* Yes, it is.

Harris Hawk @ Precinct 3.22.2013
Harris Hawk is a volatile collaboration. It threatens to tear itself apart as some sort of defense mechanism. Survival of the shrewdest.
