Whoa. That was one of the best Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling sets I’ve ever seen. The duo laid waste to their originals. They tore through a cover of Eldridge Rodriguez’s “Run MF Run.” Intense. The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show just got a kick in the pants.
Scamper(ish) @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.18.2013
Remember that time we asked the guys from Scamper if they wanted to reunite for Night #2 of The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show? That was a good idea. ¾ of the band* played a semi-acoustic set of Scamper hits to get things going. They also threw in a Nada Surf cover, because yes.
* Keith couldn’t make it, but we missed him terribly.
The Susan Constant @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.10.2013
The Susan Constant closed out Night #1 of The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show. This band is all heart. Oh, and songs. Heart and songs. This band is all heart and songs.
Eddie Japan @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.10.2013
We were honored to have this year’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Rumble winners Eddie Japan as part of The Daykamp Poster & Photo show. This group can entertain like nobody’s business. It’s a pleasure to watch them effortlessly create unique, cohesive songs from their diverse sonic palette.
Parlour Bells @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.10.2013
Parlour Bells dazzled the crowd at The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show with their always entertaining mix of glam and grit.
Gymnasium @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.10.2013
Need proof that you can be a killer rock ‘n’ roll band while playing more that four chords? Look no further than Gymnasium. This crew made their elaborate arrangements sound downright urgent at The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show. Oh, and Melissa’s “Do It For Johnny” shirt was a nice touch.
Donkeypunch Junior @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.10.2013
Davina Yannetty and Phil Wisdom (Butterknife) have performed together before. We’ve also seen Davina jump up on stage with Dave Mirabella and fill in with his band (The Rationales). So when we were putting together The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show at TT’s, we came up with the crazy idea to cram these three friends together into a singularity* of harmonic songcraft. It worked! Donkeypunch Junior was born. It was cool to hear these musicians interpret each other’s songs with this ad hoc trio. They even busted out some Traveling Wilburys. What a great way to start a night.
* There’s a 7 year old in our house obsessed with black holes.
The Field Effect @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.4.2013
Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down! Doug fell down!*
* Also, The Field Effect played a great set to close out the 5 Years of Boston Emmissions with Anngelle Wood party at TT’s.
The Color And Sound @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.4.2013
One of my favorite things about Anngelle Wood is how she gets behind a band that she believes in. Proof was at the party she threw to celebrate 5 years of hosting Boston Emission. I know I wasn’t the only one there seeing The Color And Sound for the first time. The band struck like a bolt of lightning. No one in the room will forget that performance.
Nate Leavitt @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 10.4.2013
Nate Leavitt plays with everyone. Now everyone plays with him! Nate and his band were in fine form at TT’s to celebrate 5 years of Boston Emissions with Anngelle Wood. I’m very much looking forward to his upcoming solo record.
