Freezepop @ The Middle East Downstairs 12.14.2013
With snow coming down heavily before the show and expectations of conditions worsening, there was legitimate concern before Indie Rock Ranger’s Holiday Spectacular that people wouldn’t be able to make it out to the show. Thankfully, this one played out like a cheesy Christmas movie. People did come out. Harris Hawk, Animal Talk, Parks and Sidewalk Driver all played amazing sets to a festive and growing audience. Then, Freezepop came out and put a giant electronic cherry on top of this delicious frozen treat. It was a wonderful show, Mr. Bouchard.

Parlour Bells @ Make Music Harvard Square 6.22.2013
It was a gorgeous day in Cambridge for Make Music Harvard Square. Of the nine or so acts I really would have liked to catch, I managed to see two. Instead of focusing on all of the bands I missed, I will bask in the glory of my boy referring to Goddamn Glenn as “Shiny Pants Guy” when we were talking later about the fun we that afternoon. I’m feeling pretty lucky.

Lifestyle is in The Rumble. That means they’ll be back on the TT’s stage in early April to do what they did there last Tuesday night: smash people in the face with sweet synth sounds and lavish pop hooks.
