Oh, Parlour Bells, how you enchant. Sometimes you rumble. Sometimes you croon. You always entertain. The dynamic set you performed for an adoring crowd at the Thank God For The Night release show was one more chapter in this rock ‘n’ roll fairy tale.
The Milling Gowns @ Radio 1.18.2013
The Milling Gowns’ post-punk aesthetic was warmly received by the Radio audience on a cold Friday night. The growing crowd was drawn in by echos of Joy Division and The Cure. Their set kicked off Artificial Night #1, a celebration of the new releases from Parlour Bells and Lifestyle.
Mike Woo’s Raging Bone @ Moe’s Lounge 1.18.2013
Roy Sludge Trio @ Radio 1.6.2013
Ever since our Christmas Eve Eve outing to Radio, Big Little One has been asking to go see Roy Sludge again. On Sunday we did just that. He even took some pictures, mostly of shoes. The photo of Roy’s shoes in the set is one of his. I wouldn’t object if going to listen to some Sun Records throwback sounds became a regular thing for us.
Cult 45 @ Radio 1.4.2013
How do you celebrate a new record? Do what Cult 45 did for On High. First, get Chelsea On Fire to reunite for the release show. Then get White Dynomite and Slim Lizzy* on the bill. At the end of the night you can take the stage and pummel the crowd with a fantastic set of heavy boogie. Just like Cult 45 did.
Guaranteed success.
* On the anniversary of Phil Lynott’s passing, no less.

Roy Sludge Trio @ Radio 12.23.2012
It’s Christmas Eve Eve and I’ve taken Big Little One over to Radio for some Roy Sludge. Everyone seems to be in a good mood. Roy mixes in some holiday numbers to keep things festive. Big Little One even got a sticker. I sense some more Sundays at Radio for me and this six year old. Maybe next time his little brother will tag along…
Naked On Roller Skates @ Radio 12.6.2012
Naked On Roller Skates closed out the December edition of the Brendan Boogie & The Broken Gates residency at Radio with an excitable set. Much fun was had by many.
Brendan Boogie & The Broken Gates @ Radio 12.6.2012
Brendan Boogie has an ongoing residency at Radio the first Thursday of every month with his latest band, Brendan Boogie & The Broken Gates. It’s a rocking outfit who play well off each other. Most of the material is new, but fear not. Mr Boogie still knows how to write a memorable tune. You’ll have one or two new favorites by the end of the set.
