Muck And The Mires owned Precinct on Friday night. The closest thing Boston has to The Cavern Club got shaken and stirred by the closest thing this town has to the Merseybeat sound.
Muck And The Mires @ Great Scott 6.2.2012
Muck And The Mires @ Radio 5.4.2012
Muck And The Mires @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 11.18.2011
Muck And The Mires put on one hell of a show to celebrate the release of their new album, A Cellarful Of Muck. I think we take for granted that Muck and the gang are always around town banging out their amazing British Invasion meets ’77 NYC tunes. We shouldn’t. They’re too good for that. This was one of the best sets I’ve seen all year.
The Other Girls @ The Rosebud Bar 9.23.2011
These are The Other Girls.
Andrea Gillis, Michelle Paulhus, Amy Griffin, Linda Shore and Melissa Gibbs have all made their mark on the Boston music scene. They’ve played in some of the best original bands in town. Every once in a while they get together to play some cool covers. For this show, they got together to play some really cool Joan Jett covers. It was, after all, a tribute to Joan Jett on her birthday… er, the day after her birthday… uh…
You know what? You shouldn’t need a special occasion to play Joan Jett covers. Hell, half the songs she did were covers. Joan Jett rules. Kudos to Nicole Tammaro for recognizing this and putting a show together in her honor.
