Hey! Sidewalk Driver played an afternoon show in support of the good folks over at Zumix. Family fun time! Of course I had to hand cameras to my boys to see what they see. Apparently they see Tad. Up close. Real close. Need proof? I didn’t take the last photo…
Sidewalk Driver @ TD Garden 4.2.2018
Sidewalk Driver played TD Garden.
I should probably mention that they opened for Bon Jovi. That part seems unimportant now. This is a band that has been bringing the joy of arena rock shows to small stages for years. That they’d eventually find their way into an actual arena shouldn’t have surprised anyone. It seemed almost inevitable, despite how intangible it may have felt at any given moment along the way. When opportunity presented itself they were magnificent. Just as they always are. Just on a bigger stage. In a bigger building. In front of more people. With the same amount of joy.
Sidewalk Driver played TD Garden. Finally.
Sidewalk Driver @ Great Scott 2.26.2016
A night with Sidewalk Driver is always magical. Like when they played Great Scott for the Township vinyl release show. Magical. Always.
Sidewalk Driver @ The Sinclair 11.25.2015
I’m crazy about Sidewalk Driver. I write about it in these pages after every one of their musically and visually dazzling performances. I can’t imagine ever loving this band more than I did watching them play The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show, but I’ve been through this before. They always prove me wrong. I’m so thankful they spent the night with us at The Sinclair.
Sidewalk Driver @ Lawn On D 9.18.2015
Dear Science,
Lawn On D is a magical place. I need an easier way to get there. Please perfect teleportation. Thank you. Also, Sidewalk Driver is pretty great. My whole family loves them. Thankfully, the naughty bits from their songs went right over our boys’ heads. Is there some way to ensure that they* never grow up and understand what “Five Steps” is about? I don’t think I’m ready for that. Also, also, an invisibility cloak would be pretty rad.
Sincerely,
Johnny
*Our boys, not Sidewalk Driver.
Sidewalk Driver @ The Sinclair 8.28.2015
I have taken thousands of photos of Sidewalk Driver. With any luck, there will be thousands more. I will fill hard drives with terabytes of glittery pixels in my quest to take a photo that captures the magnificence and wonder of being at a Sidewalk Driver show. It’s a goal I know I’m not likely to ever achieve. I’ve shared my failures here. Sometimes the unattainable is still worth pursuing.
Also, Tad with no pants…
Sidewalk Driver @ Mile Marker One 7.31.2015
It’s fun watching people experience Sidewalk Driver for the first time. I’m not sure what the folks drinking under the tent at Mile Marker One on a beautiful summer evening expected when they pulled up a stool, but they got a nice long set from one of the most entertaining bands around. There were lots of smiles in Gloucester that night.
Andy California @ Midway Cafe 3.27.2015
Andy California is mesmerizing. His set at The Midway last Friday was a real deal rock ‘n’ roll experience.
Sidewalk Driver @ The Sinclair 1.17.2015
Jed Gottlieb over at the Herald nailed it when he wrote “Sidewalk Driver eliminate the psychic space between audience and band with self-deprecating humor, simple love songs and humility.” Through all of the off-beat anthems and confetti bombast, Sidewalk Driver prove the heart of a really great show is having fun and sharing that fun with the sold out crowd that packed The Sinclair to see if this show can be even better than the last. It can. It was. I love this band.
Sidewalk Driver @ Boston Music Awards 12.14.2014
Here’s Sidewalk Driver showing off why they got a nomination for Live Artist Of The Year at the 2014 Boston Music Awards.
