I’ve got nothin’ today. How about some photos of The Field Effect, Tad McKitterick, Parlour Bells, Gene Dante and The Lights Out covering David Bowie? I know I have more (Sidewalk Driver, The Daily Pravda), but I’m too busy listening to “Life On Mars” to look right now.

Gene Dante And The Future Starlets brought glitz, glamour and a love of all things grandiose to the Lizard Lounge rug.
These are photographs of the glamours rock ‘n’ roll band know as Parlour Bells. This series of images dates back to last Friday when the band performed at T.T. The Bear’s Place in Cambridge, MA. Gene Dante And The Future Starlets opened up a Friday night glamtacular at TT’s. The master showman was in fine form. The master showman is always in fine form.
I saw Sidewalk Driver three times in eight days and all I have are these lousy pictures. And these. Oh, and these. Each show was special in its own way. I had a blast every time. At The Midway they closed out this year’s Crash Safely benefit with a shower of confetti and whatever it was that Tad did with Gene Dante.
Gene Dante And The Future Starlets brought their glitz, glamour, showmanship and songs to The Midway to benefit Crash Safely.
Last year, Gene Dante and The Other Girls both did sets for the Joan Jett Tribute night that Nicole Tammaro put together. For this year’s event, the two acts joined forces like some kind of hot-blooded, leather-clad, rock ‘n’ roll Voltron. Yowza.
Gene Dante is becoming one of my favorite performers in town. Whether he’s playing solo, doing Joan Jett covers in leather chaps or rocking out with The Future Starlets, the guy delivers. He’s frickin’ magnetic.
I know I’m late to the party on this one. Let me have my moment.
It’s Groundhog Day and I feel like I’ve written this post before. You know, the one where I tell you I that think Parlour Bells are pretty great.
Somehow my previous posts singing the band’s praises don’t adequately describe just how good this outfit is getting. Their set at Radio for the Winter Rock Formal was incredible. It was at times dramatic, joyous, haunting and seductive. I wouldn’t mind reliving this one over and over again.
