If Wonder Woman and Captain America got married, you might imagine there’d be some pretty interesting guest at the reception. You’d be right. So when Bert from Sesame Street, Super Chicken, Barry Gibb, Vincent Vega, Buddy the elf, the milkman, a flapper, Mr. Moxie, Matthew Crawley, The Penguin and Brendan Haley J Mascis a wizard guy get up and play some Stones, Cheap Trick, Tom Petty and ‘Mats covers you shouldn’t be surprised. No, instead you should be thankful you have a pocket camera and snap a couple of pictures.
Oh, and you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Bert sing “Here Comes A Regular.”
Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents are Jeff Lynne’s dream R&B band. Or maybe they’re Darlene Love’s favorite new wave band. I can never remember which it is. No matter. They were their usual fantastic selves at The Sinclair.
Every time I see Abbie Barrett play with her band, I walk away a bigger fan. Her voice and songs have impressive depth. Her wit is keen. Teamed up with the talented folks that make up The Last Date she may be unstoppable.
The good people of Gloucester were spoiled with a great double bill at Mile Marker One to close out July. After Sidewalk Driver livened the place up, Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents took to the corner of the tent and ripped out a fantastic mix of originals and covers. This is one heck of a band.
Here are some photos of Abbie Barrett And The Last Date. Take a look. They’re a wonderful group of people playing really well written songs. Oh, and they’re an absolute joy to watch. They played the Magen Tracy EP release the other night at Atwood’s. I enjoyed myself. Maybe you would, too. It’s worth a try.
The Gravel Pit took the stage as the 2015 Rock ‘N’ Roll Rumble special guest band and rolled through a set of rockin’ favorites old and new.

After dueting with Mike Gent on “You’re So Vain,” Tanya Donelly was joined by Gail Greenwood for a handful of Belly tunes. Wow. Being able to witness those kinds of moments while raising money for a good cause is part of what makes Hot Stove Cool Music so special. Well done.

Eli Paperboy Reed put on a rousing performance at The Paradise for the 15th Annual Hot Stove Cool Music show to benefit The Foundation To Be Named Later. It may be impossible not to smile while this guy is on stage.
