Cask Mouse bring joy into my life. Their music is heartfelt. Their performances are, too. They also happen to be fantastic people who went out of their way to make one 8 year-old boy very happy when they performed at the ARCH Gallery Holiday Bizarre, leaving the guy holding the camera more grateful than they could imagine.
Cask Mouse @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 1.23.2014
Still buzzing from their show at The Sinclair last month, I excitedly made my way to TT’s to catch Cask Mouse. They were wonderful. Again. Even more wonderful was that the night was a benefit for Revolution of Hope organized by Ryan’s Smashing Life and Boston Tweet. Well done, everybody.
Cask Mouse @ The Sinclair 12.21.2013
Here I am at my final show of 2013 and Cask Mouse may be playing the best set I’ve seen all year. They’re impossibly good right now. The Sinclair is teeming with energy, harmonies, hoots, hollers, twang and grit. It’s pure joy. I love this band. I love, love, love, LOVE this band.
Cask Mouse @ Radio 10.19.2012
I saw many of my favorite bands over the course of three nights at Radio during Bands For Babs and the club’s first anniversary show. It started me wondering which of my favorites I hadn’t seen in October. Then I noticed Cask Mouse on a bill the following weekend. Back to Radio I went…

Boy, oh boy, do I love Cask Mouse. Every time I see them I fall further under their spell. It’s comfort food for your soul. Their Rumble Semifinal set went from whisper quiet to full on hootenany without ever rushing to get from one place to the other. All in due time. You’ll know when you’ve arrived. Just listen for the clapping and stomping.

Stomp. Stomp. Stomp.
I haven’t felt the floor at TT’s shake like this in a long time. Cask Mouse is on stage killing it. The last time I saw these guys I commented I like them more and more each time I see them. The trend continues tonight. Their set on Preliminary Night #4 of the 2012 Rumble has people stomping, clapping, hooting and hollering. As Cask Mouse finishes, my wife and I turn to each other with the same thought: That’s going to be tough to beat. The judges agree. Cask Mouse takes the night.
Swamp Bear @ Moe’s Lounge 2.10.2012
Ed Llerena of Cask Mouse also has a project called Swamp Bear. Talented dude. He played a few songs down in Moe’s Lounge as part of the new Practice series.* I always like when Ed comes out from behind the drums during a Cask Mouse show, so catching this Swamp Bear set was a nice treat.
* Practice is hosted by Keith Pierce of Mellow Bravo. It’s fun!

I dug Cask Mouse the first time I saw them back in November. I really dug ’em this time. I like where this is headed…
