Good things happen when members of Aloud and OldJack team up to benefit the DCF Kids Fund. Lemon Merchant Allstars were just plain wonderful, ripping through their bands’ backlogs and playing music for the joy of it.

OldJack were up to their old tricks at the Q Division Holiday Party. They were dishing out some good old fashioned rock ‘n’ soul.
OldJack had a steady burn going at The Lizard, rolling through a rock solid set of soul-tinged tunes. It felt good to settle into their sound again.
Look, not everyone is super happy around the holidays. OldJack brought a little comfort to those folks at the Q Division/Concerted Efforts/Moontower Holiday Party.
Last month I got to see OldJack and Cask Mouse on back to back nights at The Sinclair. This made me happy. Last week I got to see OldJack and Cask Mouse together at TT’s raising money for Revolution of Hope as part of a show organized by the good folks at Ryan’s Smashing Life and Boston Tweet. More happiness. This time around, OldJack played their new record in reverse order. These new songs are really starting to hit their stride in a live setting.
For the second year in a row, OldJack’s Holiday Homage has brought a fantastic slate of local bands to the stage of The Sinclair. For their set (at their party), OldJack played all of the songs from their new What Is Home To You? album. What a wonderful night of music. Well done, OldJack.
TT’s was home to OldJack’s coming out party. OldJack returned the favor with a smoldering set for the club’s 40th Anniversary.
I didn’t get to see much of OldJack’s set on Georges Island. I had tickets for the next ferry home. Still, I couldn’t leave without hearing something from Boston’s eternal underdogs. I like ’em too much…

OldJack was a fine-tuned rock ‘n’ soul machine at The Sinclair. Saint Nicklin & Co. deftly rolled one song into the next, culminating with the pair of holiday numbers they recently made available. Let’s hope the Holiday Homage becomes an annual tradition.
