To celebrate the vinyl release of Shadow Hymns, Worshipper played their album front-to-back at the Norwood Newbury Comics location during daylight hours. Pretty sweet.

And then there was Worshipper. There are stories from the time before they awoke. Hollow stories. Tales of emptiness and woe. No more! For having witnessed this glorious beast displaying its fiery plumage on stage at The Sinclair, I am here to tell you that the darkness comes. It wields a mighty riff and rides a thunderous groove. Prepare yourselves. It is wonderful.

On the same day that the band released their “Dead End Kid” video right here on Daykamp Music TV, Cult 45 jumped on a last minute bill at TT’s to raise money for Rosie’s Place. Awesome.
Slim Jim And The Mad Cows call what they do “Country Fried Metal Rock.” Makes sense. What else would you call playing classic heavy tunes in the style of the old country legends?* These guys had me grinnin’ from ear to ear.
* Turns out this also could have been called “Maybe My Favorite Thing In The Whole World.”
How do you celebrate a new record? Do what Cult 45 did for On High. First, get Chelsea On Fire to reunite for the release show. Then get White Dynomite and Slim Lizzy* on the bill. At the end of the night you can take the stage and pummel the crowd with a fantastic set of heavy boogie. Just like Cult 45 did.
Guaranteed success.
* On the anniversary of Phil Lynott’s passing, no less.
How do you sell out a show at Radio? Well, starting the night with Slim Lizzy certainly doesn’t hurt. Watching these guys nail the Thin Lizzy sound on the anniversary of Phil Lynott’s passing was pretty special.* Oh, how I love guitarmony.
* I guess when the show was booked no one realized the significance of the date. Sometimes awesome things happen by chance.
They may look adorable, but SNUGGLZ* (Alison Murray, Bob Maloney, Crystal “Smokie” Rose, Keith Pierce and Kristina Johnson Parish) packed a punch. The first One Night Band of 2012 had a name inspired by the image they used to find their creative partners for the day. No cuddle music from this cast of characters, though. SNUGGLZ was ready to rock.
