The Interrobang brought a block party feel to PorchFest. Their feisty indie rock provided the soundtrack. They even threw in some Radiohead in preparation for their Brit Night at Radio.
The Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library @ PorchFest 5.18.2013
PorchFest! What a beautiful day to head into Somerville and listen to bands play out-of-doors. Big Little One and I jumped in the car after his swimming lesson* to catch some songs from The Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library. We camped out on the sidewalk and enjoyed the ample sunshine and harmonies. As we walked away, Big Little One informed me that he had enjoyed himself.
“I like the way they sound. They sound the best.”
* There may have been a quick stop for a donut on the way.

The Lights Out @ Radio 5.17.2013
The Lights Out aren’t afraid to take chances. This is a band that covered Queen this past Halloween and did “Bohemian Rhapsody” in its entirety. Stripping back their usual big rock aesthetic into a compelling semi-acoustic set probably seemed like a walk in the park after that. Good stuff at Radio last Friday…
David Mirabella @ Radio 5.17.2013
I do so enjoy the music of Dave Mirabella. He can do a full on rock show with The Rationales or play solo with his acoustic guitar and I will be happy. This past Friday night at Radio was the latter. I had missed a chance to see him play earlier in the week. I wasn’t going to make the same mistake again.
What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? @ Waltham Common 5.11.2013
The Watch City Festival descended upon Waltham last weekend. I took Big Little One down to the Waltham Common to check out some of the music. We caught What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? and strolled around for a bit. Hooray for free, open-air music events!
