Oh, Raging Teens, how had I never seen you before? I knew of your existence and had heard a song or two, but I never made it to a live show. If I had only known what I was missing out on. The sounds of early rock ‘n’ roll sounded so good coming from the stage of a 40 year old club. Another wrong righted by TT’s.
TT’s was home to OldJack’s coming out party. OldJack returned the favor with a smoldering set for the club’s 40th Anniversary.
I was happy to see that Roy Sludge was part of the TT’s 40th Anniversary celebration. When am I ever not happy to see Roy Sludge? I just can’t get enough of his quick wit and Sun Records sound.

Matt Heaton & The Electric Heaters kicked off Night #3 of TT’s 40th Anniversary week. We don’t often get spring-reverb-loaded surf tunes around these parts, so this was a bit of a treat.
If you need a special guest band to put an exclamation point on an amazing night (that kicks off an amazing week) of music you could do worse than Mellow Bravo. This. This right here. This is why I go to shows. Sometimes I fall in love with a band. Inevitably, that band will break up. I’ll be sad. I hope things end amicably, because then there’s a chance. A chance. There’s a chance that this band who made the music that helped me get through the day will play another show and I’ll be lucky enough to be there. Maybe for the 40th anniversary of the club they cut their teeth in. Maybe the set will be cut short, but I’ll be happy. I got to hear Permafrost play “We Are Not Friends Anymore” for the first time in ages, after all. I go to shows to make memories. Sometimes I even get to relive them.

Sarah Rabdau & Self Employed Assassins’ set for TT’s 40th Anniversary was captivating. Throw in a a cover of The Sugarcubes’ “Birthday” and you have a performance to remember.
