Rock legend Al Kooper performed at The Paradise as part of the Hot Stove Cool Music show to benefit The Foundation To Be Named Later.
Chadwick Stokes @ Paradise Rock Club 1.10.2015
After a brief delay to allow the Paradise patrons to watch the Patriots comeback against the Ravens, the music portion of 15th Annual Hot Stove Cool Music concert got underway with Chadwick Stokes. He connected with the crowd for a good cause.
When Particles Collide @ Rosebud Bar 1.7.2015
“Constant Disaster” is a fantastic song. I’m thankful whenever I get to hear it. I got to hear it at The Rosebud. Thank you, When Particles Collide.
The Rationales @ Rosebud Bar 1.7.2015
I’m at The Rosebud on a frigid winter night. The bands may be crammed into the corner of the bar area and the lighting may be non-existent, but I’m happy because The Rationales sound really good.
Zerobot @ Rosebud Bar 1.7.2015
My 2015 show-going experience started off with Zerobot at The Rosebud. That’s certainly not something I ever expected to type. A double shot of bitter windchill and bittersweet nostalgia had me a little off balance on the coldest night of the year. This ain’t you proverbial father’s Rosebud, but Zerobot tried their darndest to make it feel like it was.
246 Photos From 2014
When I was younger, I once tried making a “Greatest Albums Of All Time” list. After Appetite For Destruction and Purple Rain, I had a really hard time making sense of things. Is Shout At The Devil ahead of Master Of Puppets? Where does Love/Hate’s Blackout In The Red Room fit in? What about Poison’s debut or Nelson’s After The Rain? The Disorderlies soundtrack has Bon Jovi’s “Edge Of A Broken Heart” on it. Is that enough to make the list? It was too much pressure.
Nowadays, I try to keep things simple. 2014 is behind us. I’ve finally finished going through my photos. Rather than picking out my favorites, I’ll do what I’ve done the past couple of years. Here’s one photo from each of the 246 sets I caught from bands playing around town this year. In order. No favorites. No rankings. No tough decisions.
So, see ya later 2014. I enjoyed seeing your shows. I’ve got these photos to remember you by.
Lake Street Dive @ The Sinclair 12.29.2014
Lake Street Dive closed out 2014 with a three night stint at The Sinclair. This particular frigid winter evening featured a homecoming theme. It was a fitting celebration for a band returning to the city where they formed after scoring big at this year’s Boston Music Awards.
Jesse Dee @ The Sinclair 12.29.2014
Jesse Dee got The Sinclair crowd going with a little bit of soul. OK, a lot bit of soul.
Aquanutz @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 12.23.2014
The TT’s Holiday Party closed out with a set of hair metal classics from Aquanutz. There were ample amounts of hairspray and high-proof alcohol in use for authenticity. Both fueled a kind of debauchery fitting of the source material. I’m pretty sure this show landed a few people on the naughty list.
Mike The Considerate & The Interns @ T.T. The Bear’s Place 12.23.2014
Mike The Considerate & The Interns made merry with some punk rock covers at the TT’s Holiday Party.
