Boston Rock Photos And Stuff
It’s fun watching people experience Sidewalk Driver for the first time. I’m not sure what the folks drinking under the tent at Mile Marker One on a beautiful summer evening expected when they pulled up a stool, but they got a nice long set from one of the most entertaining bands around. There were lots of smiles in Gloucester that night.
The time has come to say goodbye to T.T. The Bear’s Place. To say the club was important to me would be an understatement. I spent countless hours standing in front of bands in that room. Making friends. Being entertained. It’s funny to think there will be no new songs heard there. No new pictures taken. I’m left with a bunch of (mostly good) memories and 392 sets of photographs from the bands I’ve seen up on that stage since this site launched.
So long, TT’s. Here’s one photo from each of the times (in order) I was lucky enough to watch a band make music within your walls over the past four and a half years. This will likely be my last post about you. Well, at least until I start going back through all the pictures I took before this site went up…

So, this is it. I’m watching my last set at T.T. The Bear’s Place. There are a few more nights to go before they lock this place up for good, but I won’t be here. I can’t imagine having a better time than I did tonight with Ad Frank & The Fast Easy Women, Parlour Bells, Francine and Cujo. The Lights Out are the brilliant sparklers on top of the TT’s farewell cake.
While I would see one more band before this beloved institution turned the lights out for the final time, Ad Frank And The Fast Easy Women would be my true goodbye to T.T. The Bear’s Place. I will forever link Ad Frank and TT’s in my mind. The first photo I ever had published was of Ad Frank on that stage. The Fast Easy Women’s farewell show was one of my all time favorite musical experiences. He was there when I first started started seeing bands play in front of that mural. He’s was there at the end. Goodnight, TT’s.
Before they opened up for Culture Club, Parlour Bells helped close down TT’s with their grit and glamour.
Exquisitely crafted and expertly performed, Francine’s tidy pop is full of wit and sneaky-cool guitar parts. Their set during TT’s Farewell Blowout brought back lots of memories.
My final pilgrimage to TT The Bear’s Place began with Cujo playing Jen’s song “Better Than Nothing,” thus ensuring I would be smiling all night.
There was a point during this Sunday night at TT’s when I thought it might be my final trip to the historic club. While I would make it out to one more show, I realized that watching The Daily Pravda own that stage one more time wouldn’t have been a bad way to go out.
I’m sad it took TT’s closing its doors for me to see Bearstronaut, but I’m glad I finally got to experience the energy of this electro-rhythm machine.
Animal Talk kept spirits high at the TT’s Farewell Blowout. How could you not smile during “Mama Was A Teenage Rocker?” Ah, memories.
