Good golly, Parks, you are one fine musical group. I’d write a gushing review of your show at The Sinclair for WERS’ 65th Anniversary, but I’ve only got a couple of minutes. I’d rather spend them pre-ordering your record.

I’ve been lucky enough to see a bunch of great Field Effect shows. Some stand out for their overflowing passion. Sometimes they cover David Bowie with Tad McKitterick. Some are just plain fun. Friday night’s show at the Sinclair for WERS’ 65th Anniversary was noteworthy for the band’s confidence. The Field Effect were in control of the situation from the moment they took the stage. The band was great. The crowd sang along. A cassingle was released. I say The Field Effect are A-ok.
WERS just celebrated their 65th Anniversary with a big show at The Sinclair. Bent Shapes got things going with their don’t-mind-us-we’re-just-gonna-play-these-killer-bursts-of-garage-pop-goodness attitude.
Nate Leavitt’s “Taking The Long Way Home” is one fine song. Hearing it in the sun and open air of Make Music Harvard Square was a real treat.
The sun was shining for Make Music Harvard Square. Songs were in the air. Parlour Bells were playing. People were smiling. Shiny Pants Guy was Shiny Shirt Guy. It was a swell day.
Fuzz, buzz, sparkle, sincerity and snarl closed out a Thursday night at TT’s courtesy of Ex-Magicians.
The Luxury’s Jason Dunn celebrated his birthday at TT’s with cake and a set of grandiose rock with his bandmates and The Interrobang’s Zerobot’s Mick Greenwood.
Animal Talk never fail to make me forget whatever is going on in the world and just have a good time. Their sets are one shakin’ hookfest after another. Nothin’ but smiles on this guy after their TT’s show.
Add The Susan Constant to the list of bands that are working on promising new material. The band debuted a handful of new songs at their recent TT’s show and got the night off on the right foot.
Davina Yannetty is funny. She sometimes sings funny songs while playing the ukulele. On this particular occasion at the Davis Square Theatre, Davina Yannetty sang two funny songs while playing the ukulele to close out a funny night that was a fundraiser for her funny uncle, Joe Yannetty, who is battling just about the least funny thing there is, cancer. If laughter is the best medicine, Joe should be better in no time.
