I love Party Bois. They made The Sinclair their own personal pleasuredome during the 2015 Boston Music Awards.
Is it possible for a band to completely win over a room in 10 minutes? Dirty Bangs did. Their brief set at The Sinclair for the 2015 Boston Music Awards was all that is good an holy about the church of rock ‘n’ roll.
Will Dailey is an electric performer. This perennial Boston Music Awards nominee took home the “Male Vocalist of the Year” award at The Sinclair.
I’m crazy about Sidewalk Driver. I write about it in these pages after every one of their musically and visually dazzling performances. I can’t imagine ever loving this band more than I did watching them play The Daykamp Poster & Photo Show, but I’ve been through this before. They always prove me wrong. I’m so thankful they spent the night with us at The Sinclair.
This is Airport. Bands don’t come much better. One day I hope more people realize this. Until then, I’m content to watch these guys fill The Lizard Lounge with their sweet, sweet, ’70s-radio-inspired sounds.
The baddest bunch of Boston-based dudes to don white wearables while blasting their boogie just floored their fans* at Once to lend a helping hand. White Dynomite!
* Technically, they floored a bandmate.
How do you celebrate the release of a two catchy-as-heck singles? Why don’t you bring your friends down to The Midway for a party? You can rock out your tunes and maybe throw in a Teenage Fanclub or Guided By Voice cover. Maybe both. Good call, Stars Like Ours.
Listening to Nate Leavitt, Dan Nicklin and Magen Tracy sing in three part harmony on a stripped-down version of “Taking The Long Way Home” is everything that’s right in the world. The rest of the set was pretty darn good, too.
I have taken thousands of photos of Sidewalk Driver. With any luck, there will be thousands more. I will fill hard drives with terabytes of glittery pixels in my quest to take a photo that captures the magnificence and wonder of being at a Sidewalk Driver show. It’s a goal I know I’m not likely to ever achieve. I’ve shared my failures here. Sometimes the unattainable is still worth pursuing.

Every time I see Abbie Barrett play with her band, I walk away a bigger fan. Her voice and songs have impressive depth. Her wit is keen. Teamed up with the talented folks that make up The Last Date she may be unstoppable.
