When the Pipeline! at 25 lineup was announced, there was a big buzz around The Cavedogs reunion. They were about to prove why. Smart, vibrant, energetic and just plain fun, The Cavedogs rocked and rolled over at Cuisine en Locale.
Woo! Gigolo Aunts! Here’s another band-I-loved-but-haven’t-seen-in-forever coaxed back into the light by Bob Dubrow for the Pipeline! at 25 shows. Their set was ridiculous. Great songs.* Great performances. Great night.

Flying Nuns reunited for an intense set of electric post-punk as part of the Pipeline! at 25 series of shows.
Most bands don’t last 5 years. The Rising Storm have been together for nearly 50. They did a mix of originals and covers at Cuisine en Locale for the Pipeline! at 25 celebration.
I was pretty excited to see Drumming On Glass as part of the Pipeline! at 25 series of shows. Intense, intertwining parts created an atmosphere of urgency as the band served up a satisfying reunion set at Cuisine en Locale.
The Natives had a roots-rockin’ reunion at Cuisine en Locale as part of the Pipeline! at 25 celebration.
Aloud cut a scalding live take of the Edwin Starr classic “Twenty-Five Miles” and made it available as a free download. There are so many good things going on in that statement. I don’t think there’s anything more to say about that. My work is done here. Have a good weekend, everybody.
Where to get it:
The Clamdiggers capped off a great evening celebrating Pipeline! at 25 with a set of rock that rolled.
Orangutang. ORANGUTANG. When I first started going to a lot of shows around town, Trona, Cherry 2000 and Jack Drag were three of my absolute favorites. Learning that some of these guys had played in a band together blew my mind a bit. I immediately tracked down a copy of Dead Sailor Acid Blues. I loved it. “Bigger Chunk” landed on all of my mix CDs. Despite becoming a huge fan of their recorded work, the thought of a reunion show never crossed my mind. Thankfully, Bob Dubrow is smarter* than I am.
Orangutang reunited for the Pipeline! at 25 celebration and it was amazing.
* Crazier? More ambitious?
